Support the Australian bushfire crisis rebuild efforts

The Foundation is supporting the rebuilding of Australia after the devastating bushfires that have impacted the country.  These catastrophic bushfires have devastated lives, homes, wildlife, livestock, land and livelihoods across our nation in unprecedented proportions, and it demands an unprecedented response. 

At times like these, we all want to know what we can do to be useful and as part of our ongoing response to the crisis, we’d encourage you to donate.

This is not a short-term crisis, and we need your support as we face this crisis together. When the fires clear, we will need to not only replace what has been lost, but build back better. 

The recovery effort will take several years and we are certain that many of our members and the wider public will be involved in this process as towns and communities recover and rebuild.

Donate a day’s pay

Members have been in contact with us and offered pro bono support. While this is to be commended, we believe that the timing of such deployment will come in the weeks and months ahead in 2020. In the coming weeks we will look to coordinate a service to connect those members looking to offer their services to communities.  Many Institute staff and members around Australia have donated a day’s salary to charities including the Foundation, which will be used to support various post-fire design and rebuild programs across many affected areas.  We encourage you to join this initiative, with 100% of funds raised to be used in post-fire design and related support efforts undertaken on the ground throughout the coming months. All donations over $2 to the Foundation are tax-deductible, and a tax receipt will be issued.

Email us at foundation@architecture.com.au once your transfer has been completed, which will allow us to issue you with a tax receipt.

Cheque

1. Make your cheque payable to The Australian Institute of Architects Foundation, quoting rebuild on your correspondence. 
2. Post to RAIA Foundation, 1/41 Exhibition Street, Melbourne VIC 3000

Upon receiving your cheque, we will issue you with a tax receipt.
